Introducing Mark Bigger, Criminal Defense Attorney

Mark: My name is Mark Bigger, and I practice DUI defense law in Kern County and surrounding areas in California. My practice areas includes Bakersfield, Mojave, Lamont, Taft, Shafter and Delano.

Interviewer: How long have you been practicing DUI law?

Mark: I’ve been practicing DUI and traffic defense for eight years. I have focused on DUI law that entire time.

Interviewer: Of all the areas of criminal law, why do you focus on DUI and traffic offenses?

Mark: Driving is so important to people, particularly in the west. It affects their ability to get to work and where they need to go. It’s common that people really need to retain their license. They are normal everyday folks, not necessarily criminals. They got caught in a situation. They didn’t realize they were breaking the law.

I empathize a lot more with people that way. When I was first assigned to the public defender of DUIs, I really got into it. When I went out on my own a year later, I found that’s an area I really enjoyed and wanted to continue practicing.
